UniSQ has forged a reputation as a strong performer in the Australian higher education sector. We are recognised for our outstanding performance in graduate employment, student support and social equity, and dedication to undertaking world-leading research.

With the world’s increasing population and declining resources, the sustainable development of our natural and built environments requires innovative solutions. The School of Surveying and Built Environment offers an integrated suite of programs that support the planning, design, construction and management of our natural and built environments.

The School of Surveying and Built Environment is Australia’s largest Surveying education provider offering professionally accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programs in surveying, urban and regional planning, spatial information, and construction management. The School’s goal is to provide rewarding and exciting career opportunities for our graduates to make a real difference in society.

What you’ll do

In this role you will deliver quality professional education in the Spatial Science discipline; contribute to teaching in the Surveying discipline; expand the School's research capability in the areas of geospatial technologies, machine learning, big data or cloud computing.

Your ability to also translate this into encouraging a positive and engaging learning environment for students, valuing diversity and inclusiveness will be highly valued.

What will help you succeed

You will hold a doctoral or master’s qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing in the relevant discipline; demonstrated high technical knowledge of Geographical Information Systems and/or Remote Sensing including spatial analytics, Python (or similar) high-end programming and spatial data management and demonstrated teaching and research expertise in a relevant discipline.

What we can offer you

We offer a range of rewarding career, financial and lifestyle benefits including:

  • On-the-job-learning, as well as access to an extensive learning and development portfolio
  • Generous employer superannuation contributions
  • Salary sacrifice
  • USQ sponsored Fit and Well Corporate Program which includes gym membership
  • Discounted personal travel and health services

The University offers a range of different ways of working and connecting across our physical and virtual spaces to meet the needs of our students, partners and community. We value diversity and aim to foster an inclusive environment that is underpinned by our values and champions, embraces and respects differences. We support and encourage applications from all diversity groups.

With an increasingly diverse workforce, we understand that careers may be placed on hold or limited throughout many life circumstances. We recognise the importance of considering achievement relative to opportunity and encourage you to outline factors such as career breaks, gender, family, or other factors which may have resulted in a limited career progression.
